Students at Colchester’s St Benedict’s College were awarded special prizes for their involvement in a website project – a collaboration between the Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (Colbea), Colchester Institute, and Woodbridge based website designers, Shelton Internet Limited.
Students from Year 10 at St Benedict’s created websites for four local organisations: En-form, Dunningham Direct, Lizarella Fashion and Colchester Institute. They were assisted by technical staff at Shelton Internet, tutors at Colchester Institute, and business advisers from Colbea. Charles Law, Head of ICT at St Benedict’s, headed the project.
The students received awards at the College’s annual prize giving ceremony held on 24 November. Representing Colbea was Richard Worn, Business Adviser, who presented the students with their certificates. “The students have shown great commitment and enterprise”, commented Mr Worn. “Through this project they have gained a raft of skills, some technical and others business based, but all of which are likely to prove invaluable as they continue their studies.”
