Biography

A project manager and business advisor and trainer with 27 years of varied commercial and local government experience.

• 10 years working as a project manager and trainer in the delivery of business support, business start-up and job search programmes in support of long-term unemployment, SME’s and Social Enterprise.
• Working with SRB, ESF and ERDF budgets through the ODPM, GOL, LSC, LDA’s local authorities and other funding bodies.
• Fund-raising including whole bid propositions for EU, SRB and other sources of funding.
• Keen awareness in changes in Government policy and its effects on SME’s and employment legislation etc.
• Currently working towards small firms Enterprise Development Initiatives (SFEDI) accreditation for business advisors.
• Inward investment, developing partnerships with a number of local authorities, industry including forming sector/cluster business forums, supply chain and partnership consortia, and the development of international links such as the European Learning Network.
• 12 years commercial project management experience working with Cable and Wireless plc Marconi Communications Ltd.  On £m, international turnkey communications projects, including communications infrastructure and construction from incept to final commissioning.
