Charles Cornish, co-owner of Mortgage-Central Limited first came across Colbea in 2003 when he was working for an independent financial adviser based in their Business Incubation Centre.
Knowing how Colbea can provide effective guidance to start up businesses Charles made sure he contacted them for advice in 2005 when he set up his bio diesel business in the Oak Business Park in Clacton-on-Sea. Richard Worn, business adviser at Colbea, helped Charles to make sure he didn’t make any of the common business start up mistakes and to do everything by the book.
His bio diesel business flourished and with the benefit of a Business Healthcheck provided by Colbea during its initial years as Charles explains, “it made sure the business kept heading in the right direction”. It led Charles in 2007 at the height of the market for his product to sell this business and in the same year go back to his roots in financial services.
Keen to work with others Charles set up and became a partner in a new independent financial services business called Mortgage-Central Limited. Based in Thorpe-Le-Soken, with a team of 6 people it specialises in providing independent, whole of market advice on insurance and mortgages. As Charles says “Richard’s advice helped to provide a solid foundation on which to build a company upon.”
